About the Artist
The current exhibition of artist Dug Morton's new paintings contains a collection of paintings ranging from geometric and lyrical abstraction to portraiture and figurative painting that delves into symbolism, surrealism and expressionism.
Dug Morton studied painting at Mount Wachusett Community College, The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and Franklin Pierce College. He has been exhibiting his artwork in galleries around New England since 1987. After still life, landscape and figure painting in his early career, he spent the next twenty years devoted to geometric minimalism. He has recently returned to representational painting while continuing his evolving journey with abstraction.
